The Skillman Foundation held a contest for the parade company. The winners of this year's float and balloon designs will have their ideas created and displayed in the Thanksgiving Day Parade on Nov. 27.
Julissa M., a seventh-grader from Earhart Middle School was a grand prize-winning artists of the 17th Annual Skillman Foundation Float and Balloon Design Contest. The design from her drawing UNDER THE SEA has been made into a float.
Julissa, drew a picture called "Our Aquarium." Julissa loves whales and has never been to an aquarium but has always wanted to visit one. She imagined her float as a traveling underwater world complete with killer whales.
